Welcome to the Next Generation Dataspaces Initiative (NGDI)!
This forward-looking project was launched with the aim of creating an innovative and interoperable data infrastructure for the European data economy. In an increasingly interconnected world, dataspaces are essential for the secure and efficient exchange of information across different industries.
The NGDI seeks to enhance interoperability between various dataspaces by leveraging the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) as a fundamental framework. Our partners, including Fraunhofer FIT, Fraunhofer ISST, and the University of Galway, contribute extensive expertise in data analytics, software development, and applied research. Together, we are developing technologies that enable enterprises to fully exploit the benefits of data sharing and integration.
Objectives and Approaches
- Interoperability: We identify requirements and develop innovative solutions to ensure seamless data integration across multiple sectors.
- User-friendliness: By employing Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Large Language Models (LLMs), we create user-friendly tools that facilitate access to dataspaces.
- Economic Sustainability: Our initiative promotes the development of sustainable business models and incentive systems that support the provision of high-quality data.
Why NGDI?
The NGDI is a key initiative aimed at strengthening the competitiveness of European industry and maximizing the societal value of data. We invite companies, research institutions, and policy makers to join us on this important journey. Together, we are shaping the future of dataspaces in Europe!
