Generative AI and large language models (LLMs) are transforming processes in almost all application domains. However, smart utilization of generative AI is a major challenge for companies. Fraunhofer FIT demonstrates, how LLM-based workflows can become more reliable and precise by integrating structured information sources, such as knowledge graphs. These technologies help optimize the applicability of structured representations of domain and expert knowledge and thus create value from these using natural language processing. The applications shown cover a broad spectrum, from general strategies for introducing LLM-based workflows in businesses to KG-enhanced agents for advanced learning and task automation for various domains, such as business processes, medicine, and cyber security. Fraunhofer FIT demonstrates how companies can leverage data spaces to securely and confidently exchange data between various stakeholders. It presents technical building blocks necessary for the successful implementation of data spaces, such as interoperability and data security, as well as governance mechanisms. Visitors will be able to experience how data rooms drive innovation and make collaboration between industry partners efficient by means of demos from production and medicine. Furthermore, we highlight how data spaces can improve analytical methods, such as AI applications, offering additional opportunities for exploration. More

How can artificial intelligence improve the work of tomorrow – and actively involve employees instead of replacing them? As part of the WIRKsam project, Fraunhofer FIT shows how humans and AI can work together in a meaningful way.
Using interactive XR demonstrators, visitors can experience first-hand how AI supports quality control in production: First they carry out the inspection independently, then with AI support – and see directly how the technology makes their work easier. At the same time, it becomes clear why human expertise remains indispensable. More
Lecture by Prof. Dr. Stefan Decker, Director of Fraunhofer FIT
Tech Transfer Stage, hall 2 | March 31, 2025, 11:50 am
Generative AI technology is driving change across many industries. The Fraunhofer FIT GenAI Lab is a central point of contact for transforming AI research into practical solutions that meet the needs of industry. Stefan Decker will explain the mission of the lab and demonstrate how it leverages expertise in data science, AI, and human-centered innovation. Through real-life examples, it will be shown how generative AI addresses challenges in areas such as predictive maintenance, automated design, and customer interaction, creating value for both companies and society. Collaboration to promote AI adoption and the development of innovative solutions is the focus. Learn how your company can benefit from generative AI and gain valuable insights into the journey from research to industrial application.

With an ever-increasingly rapid digitization, companies need to continually adapt to new developments affecting their business data. Especially the steadily growing relevanc of artificial intelligence (AI) and a transition toward more liberal data exchanges, e.g., as motivated by the Data Act, raise questions: May I share my data with an AI service? How do I obtain valuable datasets for my business and augment them to improve their utility? How can I retain control over my data?
In this masterclass, you get an overview of ongoing developments in the context of data management, such as data spaces and generative AI. You further learn to assess the challenges and also potential benefits when using these technologies in your business. Thereby, you will be able to better assess current technology trends and their impact on your business, such that you can confidently tackle your next digitization project.
